AIMAC (AI-powered tool for Mangrove-based Adaptation to Climate Change) is a web-based monitoring and assessment platform designed to evaluate the effectiveness of climate change adaptation initiatives in mangrove ecosystems. The platform applies a Principles, Criteria, and Indicators (PCI) framework that covers ecological and socioeconomic dimensions of adaptation and can be tailored to local conditions and stakeholder needs. AIMAC supports participatory and context-specific assessments through customizable criteria and indicators, multiple weighting methods including Ranking, Rating, and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and artificial intelligence-assisted recommendations. Assessment results generate adaptation scores, narrative analyses, and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making. The platform is intended for policymakers, researchers, communities, and practitioners seeking to monitor adaptation outcomes, compare performance across locations, and strengthen climate resilience in coastal and mangrove landscapes. AIMAC also enables replication of assessment frameworks across monitoring cycles and locations, supporting scalable and standardized adaptation monitoring.
