This short video is about Sagni Lalissa Tree Seed Collectors Cooperative, a group of people who collect tree seed in Sadi Loya, a small town found in South West Ethiopia. The video shows the importance of participation of women in tree seed collection which had exclusively been the job of men in different parts of Ethiopia. Although women do not climb trees in Sadi Loya for it is culturally a taboo, they actively participate in collecting seed from the ground and in gathering seed dropped by climbers from under a tree. Women are the ones who do the tree seed extraction and collection work effectively. The lives of some of the group members have changed. Thanks to the money they get from their new source of income, tree seed collection.
