Landscape Alliance receives praise for implementation of IKI RTRP-Seed project in Ethiopia

At a recent meeting of officials in Addis Ababa, Landscape Alliance earned the accolades of the Ethiopian government for effectively implementing the Right Tree in the Right Place for the Right Purpose (RTRP) project in the Somali region of Ethiopia over the past 18 months. Speaking at the project’s first Steering Committee meeting on 13 August 2026, the director general of Ethiopian Forestry Development (EFD), Kebede Yimam, recognized the exceptional collaboration between Landscape Alliance and the Somali Regional State Environmental Protection and Rural Land Administration Bureau (EPRLAB). The RTRP-Seed project, which is funded by the German Government’s International Climate Initiative (IKI), was officially launched in Nairobi in March 2024. Ethiopia is one of the five countries where the project is implemented. The other four African countries are Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burkina Faso (to a limited degree). The project began working in Ethiopia in 2025.
