Landscape Alliance is the new operating name of the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF). It represents a shared ambition – transforming science into action to advance resilient landscapes for people and planet. The name reflects both how we work and why we work together:

• Landscape reflects our systems approach: understanding forests, farms, soil, water, biodiversity, communities and economies as interconnected systems.
• Alliance reflects the importance of partnership: bringing together science, governments, communities, Indigenous Peoples, civil society, the private sector and development partners to create meaningful change.
• Landscape Alliance replaces the previous public-facing use of “CIFOR-ICRAF” and provides a clearer, more accessible identity for external audiences. At the same time, CIFOR and ICRAF remain distinct legal entities, working collaboratively under a shared strategy and governance framework.
